No Fury/Price Showdown as Fury Vacates

Hopes of an all English heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and David price have been dashed, after Tyson Fury vacated his Commonwealth and British crowns.
The fight seemed the only natural progression for both after Price spectacularly kayoed John McDermott in 1 round back in January.
Following his victory, the former Olympian called out Fury and it seemed efforts were being made to get the fight together but this morning Fury’s promotional company Hennessey Sport announced that their fighter relinquished both of his titles in pursuit of becoming a world champion and a household name.
Mick Hennessey said:
“We have a great schedule in place for Tyson on Channel 5 and I’m not prepared to have that affected by other promoters, purse bids and titles.“Fury vs. Price was a quality fight and in my opinion it should go out to the widest possible audience, that’s why I offered David Price £100,000 to fight Tyson Fury on Channel 5, which unfortunately was rejected by his promoter on Monday.“Tyson’s next steps and further information will be announced over the next few days”
Former champion Fury added:
“If David Price really believed he could beat me the smart move in my opinion would have been to take the great pay day that was offered by my promoter to appear on terrestrial TV.“I’m really excited about my future plans as I’m doing things differently and currently training like a Trojan in pursuit of becoming Heavyweight Champion of the World.”
The failure of both sides to get the fight made represents a further blow to the sport and whilst I have no doubt that the fight will take place at some point in the future, it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

What I was expecting really! No doubt about it now, Fury is runnin scared. He dont wanna risk a big payday for a World title fight by taking a beatin from Price. Shame, I was looking forward to this 1 sometime this year. Man of the match goes to Price…Fury just bottled it!
