Warren pulls plug on Echo card for now

Promoter Frank Warren has postponed this Friday’s scheduled show at Liverpool’s Echo Arena until the New Year.

The show will now take place on January 27 2012, which will come as a big disappointment for Box Nation subscribers who were hoping to see some more live after action and the channels encryption last week.

James Degale was scheduled to headline the card against Jose Guerrero while Billy Joe Saunders was scheduled to fight on the undercard for the Southern Area middleweight title.

George Groves was also originally in line to appear but had to withdraw due to a hand injury suffered in training so there is a slim chance he may appear at the rescheduled date in January.

No need for all us boxing heads to worry though as there is still some great action to look forward to this weekend.

Amir Khan faces Lamont Peterson in Washington and Ashley Theophane defends his British light-welterweight title with both contests live on Sky Sports for us all to enjoy.
