“What does Adam Booth know? He hasn’t fought a day in his life!”
Former two time heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon feels a change in personnel in David Haye’s camp will see the WBA champion improve tenfold.
Witherspoon, who also held the WBA title, feels Haye should ditch his current trainer Adam Booth in order to succed at heavyweight claiming,
‘Adam Booth is not the right man for David Haye. What does he know? The man hasn’t fought a day in his life!’
Speaking at the WBC’s Night of Champions event, Witherspoon was also critical of Haye’s current approach claiming he needs to come forward and engage as he used to. Witherspoon bemoaned the fact Haye seems content with staying outside rather than coming inside and taking chances.
He warned that although it’s working for him, in order for him to be a success he will need to start taking chances and make his fights more exciting in order to sell tickets as nobody was interested in his fight with John Ruiz in the USA. Witherspoon also warned Haye that the competition at heavyweight will get tougher thus he will need to adjust accordingly.
