Mayweather speaks, not interested in Pacquiao right now
Having allowed Friday’s deadline for a fight with Manny Pacquiao to pass without a word, many wondered what had happened to the normally talkative Floyd Mayweather.
Although the deadline passed, Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum left the door open to a fight saying a deal could still be made if Mayweather made contact before any negotiations were completed between Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito. But it appears the door is well and truly closed now as Mayweather has rejected any notion of a fight at the moment.
Speaking to the Associated Press, Mayweather stated,
“I’m not interested in rushing to do anything. I’m not really thinking about boxing right now. I’m just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I’m just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation. Like I said, I’m just supporting my family and relaxing. That’s what I’m doing right now.”
Mayweather did not however express any displeasure with the deal or divulge if a deal was even presented.
