Could a blue moon be rising again as Hatton renews boxing license?
Having flip flopped on a decision regarding retirement Ricky Hatton has given the strongest indication that he will fight on, after the Manchester born fighter decided to renew his boxing license.
Hatton, an avid Man City fan, has not fought since 2009 when he was brutally knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, losing his 140 pound title in the process but the 2 weight world champion wants to keep all avenues open and feels renewing his license allows him to do so,
“I haven’t announced my retirement. Floyd Mayweather Jnr was retired for nearly two years not long ago and he made a successful comeback.
“It is only 14 months for me. I have renewed my boxing licence again with the British Boxing Board of Control in case I decide to box on.”
Hatton has been occupying his time with his promotional company, Hatton Promotions, and is enjoying seeing his fighters progression,
“I have an open mind really, but promoting is keeping me busy. I enjoy seeing all my lads win titles, none more so than my brother Matthew.”
