Darchinyan backs out of Donaire rematch?

Vic Darchinyan has backed out of a rematch with Nonito Donaire leaving Donaire to face Fernando Montiel according to Donaire’s wife.

Darchinyan has called out Donaire constantly having been knocked out by the Filipino in 2007 but having spoken to Top Rank, Donaire’s wife claims Darchinyan “didn’t want anything to do with Nonito.” despite Bob Arum himself saying that the negotiations for the fight had been completed.

Negotiation had been on going between the two sides but continuously hit snags and it appears this is the final nail in the fight’s coffin. Donaire will now look to face Fernando Montiel who added the WBC crown to his WBO bantamweight title when he knocked out Hozumi Hasegawa on Friday.
