Hatton backs brother for world title

Ricky Hatton has backed his brother Matthew to pick up a world title after he became the European welterweight champion.
Ricky himself held the WBA welterweight title and believes his brother can follow suit as he told the MEN,
“He was a big underdog for the fight against Gianluca Branco, taking it at only three weeks notice but I always had the confidence he would win and prove all his doubters wrong. I was more nervous watching him than being in the ring myself and I don’t think it’ll be long before the Hatton family have another world champion.”
The welterweight division is a packed with talented fighters like Manny Pacquiao, Shane Mosley and Andre Berto who all hold titles, whilst the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Paul Williams, Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto all fight at the weight.

I agree, the division is very deep and I see him struggling against the mid level fighters let alone the elite
