Video Highlights: George Foreman vs Joe Frazier
When two undefeated fighters meet there is always excitement over whose ’0′ will go and when George Foreman met Joe Frazier for his WBC & WBA heavyweight titles in 1973 it was the same.
Foreman was a punching machine, who in the 37 bouts prior to the Frazier fight had failed to stop just 3 of his opponents whilst Smokin’ Joe, who is regarded as having one of the finest left hooks ever, had conquered Muhammad Ali 2 years earlier.
Frazier went into the bout 29-0 but he would leave his 0 there.
The bout dubbed ‘The Sunshine Showdown’ did not last long as Foreman, who towered over Frazier, battered the champion, knocking him down 6 times before the referee called the bout off in the second round.
