People love boxing because unlike team sports once you climb into the ring, there is no hiding. You have nobody to blame for losing except yourself in most cases and your strengths and weakness become glaringly obvious under the bright lights.

That’s where trainers come into it. Their job is to ensure you are best prepared once you get into the ring.

Freddie Roach has been credited with turning Manny Pacquiao from a limited fighter in an almost perfect one, whilst Angelo Dundee trained greats like Sugar Ray Leonard and the Greatest of All Time, Muhammad Ali.

In this age whilst the likes of Roach, Floyd Mayweather Sr, Roger Mayweather and to a lesser extent Emmanuel Stewart get all the praise in terms of being trainers a quiet and unassuming man goes about his job with the same efficiency but minus the pomp.

Brother Nazim Richardson deserves all the praise he gets and should get more for his work with both Hopkins and Mosley as he masterminded victories over both Antonio Margarito and Kelly Pavlik as well as being the person who clocked onto the illegal hand wraps Antonio Margarito had tried to use against Mosley.
