Vitali looks to sign off with a win over Haye
WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has claimed he will retire this year in an interview with 1+1 network. The 38 year old Ukrainian claims that once he and his brother own all the heavyweight titles he will retire to focus on his career in politics.
“I only have to win one more belt, that’s why I’m going to hang up my gloves this year. I’ll stop travelling to different cities to beat somebody up.”
The one belt he talks of is the WBA crown currently held by David Haye and following the Brit’s taunts aimed at both he and his brother Wlad, it is obvious Vitali would relish at the opportunity to relieve him of his belt.
Haye faces John Ruiz on April 3rd and any unification bout between he and Vitali is dependent on him coming through that bout victorious
