Funeka/Guzman rematch set for March 27th

It appears Ali Funeka will get another crack at Joan Guzman on the Maidana/Cayo under card in March.

The two first met last November  and in a bout that many (myself included) had Funeka clearly winning the decision was declared a draw.The decision left Funeka’s promoter Gary Shaw livid and he made a point of letting his feeling be known by emailing ESPN’s Dan Rafael and venting.

Shaw was not the only person to pan the decision as HBO’s broadcast team of Bob Pappa, Max Kellerman and former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis as well as promoter Lou DiBella, Top Rank match maker Brad “Abdul” Goodman, Star Boxing match maker Ron Katz and manager Shelly Finkel all called foul play.

The bout will again be for the vacant IBF lightweight title and Funeka will hope this time the decision matches his in ring effort.
