Mayweather: Mosley is a C-lister, I’ll fight Pacquiao

Well we wondered how long it would take following a relatively quiet start to promo of the Mosley/Mayweather fight but true to form, Floyd Mayweather has started the trash talking!

The two face off on May 1st following a break down in negotiations between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao but little has been heard since the fight was made official early this month but speaking to allhiphop.com Mayweather said,

“I’m an A-lister. Shane is a C-lister. When you involve yourself with the Mayweather brand, it takes you to the next level in the sport of boxing. Shane is a good fighter. He’s going to the hall of fame and I know I’m going to the hall of fame so it’s good to have two fighters going to the hall of fame in there.

“I built myself up, to be the super bowl of boxing. When Floyd Mayweather laces up the gloves, it’s the all star game. I don’t know how much longer we’ll be in the sport of boxing. They are constantly trying to build up a fighter to beat Floyd Mayweather and I can’t blame them.”

It was fate that the two would cross paths since the Floyd’s junior lightweight and Mosley’s lightweight days but we just didn’t think it would take this long.

Mayweather also spoke on the failed super fight with Manny Pacquiao that was scheduled to take place on March 13th claiming,

“I would love to fight Manny Pacquiao but it has to be fair. We have athletes who live in our own country that lie to the American citizens about taking certain enhancing drugs. Manny Pacquiao is not from this country and don’t even live in this country so imagine what he would tell the American people.

“Manny Pacquiao was just an ordinary fighter and once he got over 25, 26, he became extraordinary. That doesn’t happen in the sport of boxing so it has to be something. I started off good in my career and all the way through my career I’ve been dominating. I started off good and became great but you don’t start off ordinary and become extraordinary. If Manny Pacquiao has nothing to hide, I never saw a man who didn’t want to take a $25 million dollar drug test.”

It is hoped that if both he and Pacquiao come throught their bouts victorious then the two will face off in the later third of the year but the Olympic style drug testing that Floyd wants remains a sticking point for both parties.
